Analysis of the evolution of the database vendors (hosts) from 1970 to the present. An in-depth analysis of Dialog Host has been done to show the more relevant events in this history. A comparison between the Questel-Orbit and the Dialog hosts is carried to demonstrate that the fierce competition is the major reason for the disappearance of many previous hosts. (Authors)Downloads
