The evolution of user interfaces has been mainly guided by a single principle: the challenge of approximating the design model of the system to the user. During the last years a new trend has been arising in the user interface design field: the virtual reality, that it can be considered as a natural progress in the human computer interaction evolution.Digital libraries can take advantage of virtual reality as VILMA (VIrtual Library with a Multi-layer Architecture) does. This digital library uses the traditional library metaphor. (Author)Downloads
