Abstract

The premises that can affect the theoretical development of Library Science during the present century are analysed. They are contextualized in the 20th century trends, and their consequences are envisioned, taking in account the coming social conditions, the diversity inherent to the library science theory and the different facets of the creative work of librarians. From such starting points, the foreseeable future of Library Science theory in Cuba is presented
