The role of school libraries in the promotion of research and new technologies in the secondary education is analysed. The discussion is framed from the Brazilian progressive educational paradigm named “new school” or “contemporary school”, inspired in authors like Paulo Freire and Dermeval Saviani. Teachers, librarians —seen as educators— and students, should form a triad that guarantees the formation of the future researchers, forming autonomous and critical individuals, capable of changing the intellectual reality of the countryDownloads
