The Iconographic Classification System (ICONCLASS) is studied. Its use in different databases, structure and use is analyzed, comparing them with the features offered by more traditional and well-known indexing languages. Iconclass works as a classification scheme, but also allows the indexing and abstracting of images by the headings of the assigned alphanumeric codesDownloads
