Abstract

Women’s studies, currently known as gender studies, have been consolidated in many universities and research centers in Spain and abroad. The beginning of gender studies sin our country made electronic journals possible. These journals set the base to channel gender studies research carried out in Spain and its results. They have also served as a permanent communication space between the scientific community specialized in gender studies. Some of these journals are published both on-line and on paper. On the other hand, most of these specialized research centers publish their own journals as a vehicle to make their own research known worldwide. This particular characteristic makes electronic journals interdisciplinary and global electronic devices. The aim of this work is to analyse the web pages of the most important electronic journals specialized in gender studies, both in Spain and in the Anglo-Saxon world, so that we can lay the foundations for future research.
