The second phase of a research project for the evaluation of Extremadura’s commercial web sites is presented. The first stage (2003-2004) classified the existing web sites according to the Universal Decimal Classification, distinguishing between direct and indirect selling systems. The results indicated a rapid growth of the number of sites up to 2004, and a subsequent stabilization. In the second phase of the study, the quality of the web pages was also analyzed. The results indicate reluctance to direct selling and offer a map of Extremadura’s commercial websites by economic sector, with a remarkable predominance of the accommodation industry.Downloads
