The articles published in the number 2 of the volume 16th of Scire (Jul.-Dic. 2010) are presented. The first group are theoretical articles related to the influence of Pierce’s semiotics in knowledge organization, the historical building of facet theory, the role of classification on archival theory, the application of the generative course analysis to the content analysis of narrative fiction, and the historical backgrounds of subject headings standarization. The second group of articles are of a technological nature, specifically about the application of SKOS to thesauri interoperability and the devolpment of search engines for a distributed organizational environment. There is also a a bibliometric analysis of knowledge organization in Brazil; and, finally, several articles on the sociocognitive analysis of indexers’ working conditions.
