Analysis of the document ‘Cuatro trabajos en curso’, by José Maria Izquierdo Arroyo, highlighting issues related to his documentary semiotics project. The methodology approached is a document review focusing on the first two works of the report —”Towards a theory of documentary representation”, and “Historical essay on documentary semiotic”— using, when necessary, the book “Concepción lógico-lingüística de la Documentación”, published in collaboration with Sagredo Fernández to acquire a better contextualization and understanding of the project objectives. We present his working method, the topics that make up his academic path, a brief analysis of the topics and bibliography privileged by him, followed by a commentary on the context of his research taking in account other similar efforts.
