Indexers in action: factors affecting content analysis

Abstract

Factors that affect content analysis of documents are analysed: subjectivity, previous knowledge, and academic and professional background. A metholodology based in interviews and verbal procol analysis is used. The interdisciplinary relation of indexing with Linguistics, Cognitive Psychology and Logics is analysed
