The functions of archives in the photographic album industry

Abstract

The private for-profit institution necessarily works with a focus on continuous improvement of the results of its operations, thus ensuring the entry of assets. The archive is often consulted in order to obtain answers to questions of legal, administrative, political and diplomatic. This study aimed to delineate the organizational structure of a renowned brazilian company in the segment of photography in order to meet the tasks, activities and routines specific to the industry named “archive albums”, contextualizing it and providing elements for an effective organization of the ser-vices provided by industry. The study opted for a descriptive-exploratory method through observation of daily routines and interviews with the application of semi-structured questionnaire to industry officials and heads of departments. The results of data collection were synthesized by flow chart and a functional organizational structure that allows us to understand the activities developed by the sector.

Estudiante del Programa de Postgrado en Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad Estadual Paulista - UNESP, Campus Marília (2008 - 2010). Especialista en “Uso Estratégico de Tecnologías de la Información” también en la UNESP (2006). Graduada en Bibliotecología de la Universidad Estadual Paulista - UNESP, Campus Marília (1996). En la actualidad es un bibliotecario ETEC Prof. Massuyuki Kawano unidad del Centro Estatal de Educación Tecnológica Paula Souza – CEETEPS. Sus temas de interés son: fotografía, archivos fotográficos, la produção e organización de la información, la gestión documental e análisis métrico.

Graduada en Historia egresada de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de São Paulo (1985), Especialista en Archivo en la IEB/USP (1988), Master en Historia en la Pontificia  Universidad Católica de São Paulo (1999) y Doctora en Ciencias de la Comunicación en la Universidad de São Paulo (2005). Actualmente es profesora asistente del Departamento de Ciencia de la Información de la Facultad de Filosofía y Ciencia de la UNESP/Campus Marília. Tiene experiencia en el área de Ciencia de la Información, con énfasis en Archivología, actuando principalmente en los siguientes temas: fotografía, acervos audiovisuales, conservación preventiva e historia contemporánea de Brasil.
