The BR is defined as the lists of recommended readings selected by the teaching faculty and included in the course syllabuses. The library plays an important role in this process, both as information source and access point to these materials for all degree programs in the University of Zaragoza (UZ). Since control and accessibility of the BR is among the strategic objectives of the library, a task force (Subcomisión BR) was created in order to accomplish it. A database (BR_13) was designed for the shared management of BR among all 20 branches of the library. Users access BR_13 through a Web based search interface, which is also used by the faculty to validate and update their lists. Additional benefits of this new tool are: knowing how many of these materials and how much are used (important for acquisitions decision making); providing an accurate and reliable reference citation of all documents included in the BR.Downloads
