The Information Literacy Training Plan of the Library of the University of Zaragoza (UZ, Spain), which was initiated in 2009, is presented and discussed. Its objectives are integrating the training offer of the library into the educational plans of the UZ, using an e-learning model to reach all the students, and incorporating the training activity in the teaching guides. The design and content creation was developed by a working group, the CI Training Subcommittee, in alliance with the IT service and graduate studies coordinators for its implementation, and was deployed in the different faculty libraries with the help of the training librarians. Results are very satisfactory: virtual learning activity on the basic level for freshmen has been implanted up to the 97% of the grades; and five thousand sophomore students are studying the subject, a 76% of them. The involvement of teachers, the coordination of the program at the higher institutional level and its continuous assessment are issues on which we must continue working in cooperative teams teacher-librarians. Future challenges we must address are the incorporation of computer skills to advance to the computer-and information competences model, and the development of learning activities for intermediate and advanced levels of information skills.
