The system of professions and the information professional

Reflection on the current evolution of the professions related with the information treatment in the frame of the system of professions from the point of view of the Sociology of Professions of Abbott and McGuire. The changes that are occurring in the system of professions as a consequence of the development of the knowledge society are analysed. It is concluded that a need exists that information professionals rethink from this new reality their role and their relationship with the labour market to respond to the new demands of the societyDownloads
